It’s not always either or
It’s not always so simple
Problems we face follow us home
Until we leave none of us alone
Oh, I see her face
Oh, blood freshly placed
Oh, earth and air
Oh, share in her pain
The line between living and dying
Is not always so simple
We don’t have to live forever
But may we not suffer needlessly
Oh, I see slow decline
Oh, I see fears to let go
Oh, our desire to live
Oh, meets our mortality
Hearts get broken then fly above
Hopes get crushed and grow regret
Kindness tethers to our souls
Sun shines through clouds ever dark
We never know our true impact
Words can hurt like stones in arrows
Choose them carefully and know
Goodbyes are only waves transitioning
